Dorothy Gibson presents Centennial Diamond Celebration Kick-off for the Hope Diamond

Dorothy Gibson is a retired gemologist and jewelry appraiser.

She trained and worked at the Gemological Institute of America in New York City, then became a jewelry appraiser for a major New Jersey jewelry company and eventually had a small jewelry business of her own

She was also a Fellow of the Gemological Association of Great Britain.

She received various awards during her professional life, including the Tully Medal, a major international prize in gemology, an award from the International Society of Appraisers and from the Association of Women Gemologists.
